January
Back in January the year started out with a new sideboard for the kitchen extension. We had been looking for one for ages and then found a lovely one online for a really good price. Dad came over and helped with construction.
I also made another trip to the capital for the WordPress Big Media meetup which was held at the news UK headquarters in central London. It was also a good chance to catch-up with Keith who also made the (shorter) trip.

February
This was a reasonably quiet month with some birthday celebrations, valentines day of course (cooked a lovely steak dinner) and some nice family walks around the local area at half term.

March
The main event in March was WordCamp London in the capital. This meant another journey on the train and staying with friends old and new in an AirBnB in central London. We had a great time.

April
This month was holiday month with the school Easter holidays meaning the kids had some time off school. We ventured out to Spain taking then children on their first aeroplane – they loved the holiday and we all had a great time.
We also managed to get some time with grandparents in the caravan, staying on the Wirral peninsula.
May
A trip to Bristol for another WordCamp – the first in Bristol was the main event of May, but it was also the month that I purchased my first bike in a long time and I therefore had some rides around the local area.
June
Wales was the main highlight of this month with a short stay in the caravan at Barmouth Bay. We took a lovely walk from Ysgethin up to see the waterfalls.
July
This month started with a weekend break in Barmouth Bay, followed by a day at the local fire station for an open day. This was a great idea by the local fire crews allowing the public in an around the station and the fire engines. They also allowed the youngsters to dress up and fire people and fire the water hoses. The kids loved it.
There was also WordCamp Edinburgh which was beautiful.

August
The summer holidays meant a few trips out and about including a stay in Anglesey in north Wales as well as another trip to Mallorca.

End of summer BBQs, a spot of golf and some more later summer bike rides all took place in September.

WordCamp Manchester was the highlight of October and another chance to catch-up with friends from the UK WordPress community.

November & December
With winter drawing in the events tailed off a little, as well as some cancellations due to transport issues. I managed to get to some of the local WordPress meet-up groups in Blackburn and Manchester.
