A Sunny Stroll Around Brockholes Nature Reserve

With the superb weather we have had over the last couple of weeks, we decided to head out for a walk with the kids. Brockholes Nature Reserve is somewhere we have been meaning to go for ages and never got round to it. Today we finally paid it a visit.

The nature reserve us just off the M6 motorway at Junction 31. In fact you have to look for the signs in order to take the correct road or else you will end up on the motorway.

There is a selection of short walks you can take, which go in and around the nature reserve. We went on the perimeter walk – well sort of having got a little lost but ended up on a nice walk along the river.

The visitor centre – which we never managed to see, is very unique as it is floating on the lake. There is also a small adventure playground and the Guild Wheel cycle path runs through the park.

Definitely worth another visit to take a look at the visitor centre and also let the kids on the play park. It is free for visitors but parking is £5 which is pretty reasonable we thought.
