Well, to be honest although a beach is involved it was not what you would call a beach holiday. However, it was a terrific week away with family, in a nice Lodge with a lovely hot tub!Continue reading A Barmouth Bay beach holiday
2 years ago we went to Majorca in the Balearic islands for an Easter break and although we have a great time, we wanted something a little warmer this time around.
After searching around, the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa, seemed the best, and most cost effective option. We started to look around for different options and Lanzarote seemed to stand out. Not only did it come across as a great place to go on holiday, many friends and family had also recommended it to us.Continue reading A week in Lanzarote
About twice a year, our WordPress agency, Highrise Digital have a retreat away which is a chance to meet with other team members and spend some time together. This time we went to the Italian Dolomites.
Being a remote WordPress company means we don’t often meet in the physical world with our colleagues and therefore these retreats are really important. A time to spend getting to know each other better and of course for working on things together.Continue reading Retreating to the Italian Dolomites
For our first experience, we booked a long weekend – arriving on Friday and leaving on Monday. We staying in a lovely 2 bedroom lodge, just big enough for us all to not feel to cramped.
We love visiting Cala Bona in Majorca. Last year we end up visiting twice. First around Easter and then again at the end of the summer holidays. When booking our summer holiday abroad (all wonderfully handled by my wife) we had no hesitation in booking again for the same resort.
Majorca is a lovely island and provides all kinds of holidays. For us, with two children it provides all we need. The kids love the pool(s) and then can spend all day playing around, diving in and going up and down the slides. For us it provides a nice relaxing place to sunbathe and is a good safe space for both us and the children.
With the kids staying on the caravan site with grandparents, I managed to find us a lovely AirBnB place to stay within walking distance. It was delightful and pretty much like a 5-star hotel, with a full English breakfast each morning! We had our own living room with TV etc. bedroom and bathroom, all within the owners house. I would highly recommend Low Field farm if you are looking for something – Lydia, our host was lovely.
Over the Easter period I attempted to take some video footage and turn it into some sort of shorter holiday clip. My (poor) effort is below.

On our last day of the short break we wanted to go on the Panorama walk to the south of Barmouth. We waited for a clear sunny day and we certainly got one as the views were stunning and well worth the short hike up the mountain.
Today we woke early (well the boys did!) as we still seem to be getting used to the loss of an hour with the change in the clocks. After some breakfast I headed out for a lovely morning walk on the beach with the boys. They love running around in the sand and spending time in the fresh air.
There is something really relaxing about walking along the beach on the coast with the waves crashing into the rocks and up to the sand. The kids also love it, running around in so much open space.
