At the start of the year I decided (very unlike me) to set some goals for the year.
In fact I think I would rather call them targets. I am not sure why I like that word better, but I do.

At the start of the year I decided (very unlike me) to set some goals for the year.
In fact I think I would rather call them targets. I am not sure why I like that word better, but I do.
First lets look at what these where:
Today was a long day at work with lots to do and to get through. This meant I had not managed to head out for my usual Monday run. After tea and with the kids in bed, I thought what can I do now?
It would either be slump in front of the TV watching football, or simply to continue with the mountain of tasks that I have to complete.
If you want to read all about my running this year and meeting my goals then I have already written about this when I achieved my revised target of 814 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. This post is going to concentrate on the new achievement of pushing on to 1000 miles.
After reaching my revised target, I ended November needing to run 150 miles. In the back of my mind I had it that I would really like to run 1000 miles in a year.
Those who know me will know that I am a web developer which involves sitting at a computer for large amount of time hammering out lines of code. I love it, in fact I left a well paid job back in 2014 to concentrate on it full time.
However I gradually started to get frustrated with sitting around all day. You see the thing is, when you work from home as I do, you can end up sitting down, pretty much all day.
Today I amazed myself I think as I managed to run 7.6 miles – the furthest I think I have ever run in my life. I was very proud a very tired when I got back. Usually my route is between 4.8 and 6.6 miles long but today I was determined to better it and did an extra circuit at the end. I am now trying to achieve my new goal of 814 miles in 2017.
